What it is

A cultural experience built around a single tradition.

Fufu and Vibes is a gathering centered on pounded yam. The food is the centerpiece, the tradition is the reason, and the room is the point. We share the music, the process, and the table.

come pound with us.

The gathering

Three things every Fufu and Vibes carries with it.

Two women pounding yam together in a tall wooden mortar

The Tradition

Pounded yam, prepared the way it has always been prepared. Whole yam, wooden mortar, two hands and a rhythm. Watch it. Learn it. Take a turn.

The Atmosphere

Music chosen with care. Warm light. A room shaped to let people talk to each other and stay a while. The food is one part of the gathering, not the whole of it.

Friends sharing pounded yam and egusi

The Community

A shared table. New people, familiar faces. You leave knowing someone you did not know walking in.

Common questions

The things people ask first.

What is Fufu and Vibes?

An African cultural experience centered on the tradition of pounded yam. Food, music, and community in one room. Every guest gets their own mortar and pestle station and pounds their own yam, with hosts guiding the process step by step.

How does the experience work?

Each participant gets a mortar and pestle station and takes part in the traditional process of pounding yam. Hosts demonstrate and guide you throughout. Food and accompaniments are prepared separately by the team.
